Three tips to get your car ready for winter

Winter  is just around the corner, we can feel it when we step outside in the morning, and we are starting to see a lot colder temperatures on our way back from work. There’s no doubt that the next few weeks is a perfect time to get our car ready for winter. Getting your vehicle set up to face the ice and the snow that’s coming in the next few months isn’t necessarily complicated, there are just a few steps to follow and your Volkswagen dealership will be more than happy to help you out.

Proper Maintenance

It is always a good idea to have a service performed on your Honda before winter comes around. This will ensure that your battery is capable of facing the temperature fluctuations that are coming soon. This will also help you make sure that your vehicle is free of any possible mechanical problems that could be aggravated in winter. Having the car serviced at the same time as you are putting on your winter tires is a great idea.

Winter Tires

Speaking of winter tires, you want to make sure that you’ll have quality tires on your vehicle to face icy roads and snow storms. If you’re not sure if your winter tires are still in good condition, think back to last winter. Did you have trouble maintaining stability towards the end of last year’s winter? You can also check your tires for signs of wear and tear and most winter tires come with a tread indicator which tells you if the tire is still good or not. In any case, now is the time to think about replacing your winter tires, or at the very least having your current set installed.

Detailing

There are a lot of things that we can do to protect your car against winter. The first step is to have it thoroughly cleaned but we can also apply a protective wrap which will protect your vehicle’s paint from the small rocks and dirt present on the road in winter. We can also install winter mats inside to keep your carpets protected. Check out our winter detailing packages and keep your car clean and protected this winter.
