The Volkswagen Golf GTI is all-new for 2022, marking the arrival of the eight generation of driving enthusiasts favorite hot-hatch.

More performance

The 2022 Volkswagen Golf GTI is more powerful and more fun to drive than ever due to an updated version of the 2.0L turbocharged engine, that now delivers 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque through your choice of a six-speed manual transmission or a lightning-quick seven-speed Dual-Clutch automatic unit. To make the most out of this increased power, the GTI features the first use of Volkswagen’s vehicle dynamics system which controls the XDS electronically locking differential, the VAQ torque sensing limited-slip front differential and the optional DCC active damping feature. The handling of the new GTI was also improved, with many tweaks to the suspension in order to make it more enjoyable to drive and more stable at high speeds. The revisions to the front suspension provide it with a spring rate that is higher than the previous model by 5% and the rear axle benefits from a spring rate increase of 15%.

More technology

The 2022 Golf GTI is equipped with all of the latest technologies from Volkswagen in terms of infotainment, vehicle control and useability. The new GTI uses the MIB3 infotainment system, which supports capacitive touch, like a smartphone. The optional 10-inch display includes a subscription to Volkswagen Car-Net, which allows you to interact with your vehicle from your phone in order to lock it and unlock it or to check the current status, including the estimated fuel level. Another function of Car-Net is the ability to serve as a hotspot for all of your mobile devices and to alert you to different events, such as when the vehicle is driven after a curfew you have determined or if it is driven for more than 0.3 kilometers after having been dropped off at a valet service. These features and many other combine to make the 2022 Golf GTI the most technologically advanced Golf ever made.
